We are all looking forward to Art Miami again this year where both Holden Luntz and Maddox Gallery will be representing us in their booths. Last year was a huge success for both us and the galleries we worked with and I hope that we can build on the momentum this year.
On Monday 3rd December we will be hosting a dinner at Casa Tua – the famous boutique ... Hotel on South Beach. Casa Tua will also be showing our work throughout December and it will be our base for the fair.
The DYP team will be in Miami from Sunday 2nd through to Thursday 6th.

This October we will be returning to Maddox Gallery in Westbourne Grove, London, for a one man show centred around our recent collaboration with TAG Heuer and Cara Delevingne. Invitations for the opening evening on the 22nd October, hosted by all connected parties, will be delivered in September.
The #Don’tCrackUnderPressure campaign featuring Cara, has now been unveiled worldwide. This will be our major show in Europe in the final ... third of the year. The opening event will include an auction of one of the limited edition prints of Cara with all the proceeds going to her foundation.

1880’s Club, Singapore

In Singapore, there is a 22,000 sq. ft. private club on The Peak called the 1880 club which is very much of The Battery Club mould. Have a look at their website. I am excited about speaking there on the evening of Thursday 25th October. We have only recently started to make some inroads into the far Eastern market and I hope this will be a helpful association.

We look forward to returning to Dallas, Texas for a series of events in September. Dallas is a key city for us and over the years we have been lucky to establish a very solid collector base. The lead evenings will be at our gallery partners Samuel Lynne where the opening night of my show will be Saturday 8th September.
Samuel Lynne is the biggest gallery by space that ... represents us in America and they are expecting a large crowd. There will be other evenings hosted by three of our great sponsors and friends in the city – Phil Romano, Steve and Anne Stodghill and Al Biernat. They are all leading Dallas figures and it is wonderful to have them as collectors and friends.
Dallas is also the home of Roxanna Redfoot, who has played a number of characters in my staged work in Montana and on all occasions, she has been quite exceptional. We are looking forward to welcoming her and her friends to the evenings. I would also like to make a special thanks to my fellow Nikon Ambassador and Texan – Dixie Dixon – without whom many good things this year would not have happened.

The Photokina Fair in Cologne is now established as the World’s leading photographic and imaging fair and over 200,000 people will attend the event in Cologne this autumn. As a European ambassador for Nikon I was always scheduled to be speaking every day of the show in Germany.
But for Nikon the event has taken on added importance because of a recent major product launch.The company has just introduced ... their first mirrorless camera system – a very significant event for the Japanese camera brand that I have worked with for 32 years. Sony has really had this market to itself for a while and this is Nikon’s first counter attack. Nikon is a conservative company and this is a bold move for sure.
I have no doubt that the system will be well received by most and I am honoured to have been asked by Nikon to showcase the camera. So I am now in possession of the new equipment and look forward to testing it on a polar bear shoot in the arctic in 3 weeks time. By the time Photokina comes around in Cologne, I will have poster large images on display from that trip – hopefully they will be of polar bears – otherwise they maybe a little dull.

Gallery Opening and Single Man Show
We have many friends in the great city of Zurich and it has been 30 months since we have shown there. It is time to go back and I am so pleased that Julius Baer Private Bank will again be supporting us – as they did in Gstaad. It is also good that my dear friend Paul Schwob, who used to ... represent me in Switzerland, but had to reduce his commitment because of ill health, is feeling much stronger and will be in town to support our efforts.
Most of all, however, I would like to thank Petra Gut for opening her eponymous new gallery with an exhibition of my work.

In the first week of July, we will be back in Norway for a summer show. Our exhibition at Galleri Fineart last autumn was our most successful show in continental Europe and we look forward to working with the same gallery team in the Norwegian summer resort of Kragerø.
I look forward to bringing my family to a beautiful part of the world and I hope that ... many of our Norwegian friends and collectors will be able to make the short journey from Oslo.

Our exhibition in May in Moscow will be a highlight of my 30 year career and our hosts in Russia have been wonderful and considered in all that they do.
MAMM is one of the world’s truly prestigious photography museums and it is a thrill to follow in the footsteps of some of the giants of the craft.
The show will run for five weeks and judging ... from my visit to the museum in February, it will be beautifully curated. The Museum lead director – Olga Sviblova – is the Anna Wintour of photography and I have waited many years to win her attention and respect. It was humbling to watch her review my work – image by image – on a freezing Saturday afternoon in the suburbs of Moscow. I am the second Scot to be given the honour of an exhibition at MAMM – the first being my friend and mentor – Albert Watson.
We have had some great press for the event – what a thrill it was to feature in Golfers Digest.

Their new gallery in Notting Hill looks to be ideally positioned.
The show – “The Untouchables” will be launched with a series of private events during the opening week and we hope to see many old friends. Much of the space will de dedicated to new work from 2017 – such as “The Untouchables” and all of these pieces will be on display for the first time. It promises to be an excellent event at a fabulous space.

It was a great thrill to see an original “Mankind” under the Sotheby’s hammer at their leading photography sale in London on May 19th. There were 99 lots being auctioned that day and many of the most famous photographers of the last 50 years were involved. Celebrated works from Helmut Newton, Irving Penn, Albert Watson, Peter Beard and Peter Lindbergh were also being auctioned, so it was something of

a seminal moment for me. Equally, it has taken 35 years, so I am far from an overnight sensation!
Mankind – taken in South Sudan in December 2014 – is probably my most coveted image and the two sizes available have both sold out of their editions of 12. It is the right image to test the market place at the right time for me as an artist.
As you will see, Mankind wacs lot 51. There are preview nights at Sotheby’s and some other special events in the preceding days, so please do contact our offices for further information if you are interested in attending. We are hopeful that the work will find a good home at a good price and equally importantly, I hope this is the start of a long relationship between Sotheby’s and myself.

I am pleased that my relationship with TUSK – the UK’s most acclaimed conservation NGO – is now in its 4th year. My role as their affiliated photographer affords me many advantages in the field and I am delighted that I can give back partly by my imagery raising awareness of the beauty of African wildlife, but more substantively by charity sales of my prints at TUSK events. It was be held from 10/13 of March at The Mall, in the new district of Porta Nuova Garibaldi, Milan. David will be presenting some selected works as well as a lecture, on his book, “Wild Encounters”, which will take place ... at 12pm on Friday 10th.

David kicked off his US side of the tour at Tinney Contemporary Gallery in Nashville, Tennessee on Friday night, including a public book signing on the Saturday. The exhibition will stay open until the end of the month and features images from David’s new book ‘Wild Encounters’.

David presented at the inaugural Christie’s Conservation Lectures in aid of Tusk Trust on Wednesday 30th April. The newly created ‘Kenya Collection’ was exhibited for the first time during the event. This collection comprised 17 photographs (14 black and white and 3 colour shots) captured during David’s periodical assignments to two spectacular locations in Kenya: Lewa Wildlife Conservancy and Amboseli National ... Park.

Over 240 guests met at the Tribeca Rooftop in New York to attend a fundraising dinner. The event successfully highlighted and exposed the vital efforts that Tusk Trust makes to protect endangered African wildlife. A selection of some of David’s most iconic photographs of African elephants and rhinos were exhibited, including works such as Charge, Big and Family.
